HOW DO I AUDITION?
FIRST, READ THE WHOLE BROCHURE.
THEN, figure out which voice you sound best in.
Then make your recording.
Fill out your application.
Make a check for $25 to UUCC/UUMN

Each singer should submit the following:
1.A completed application (down load and print pdf. file or get from your Music Director)
2.A good quality recording on either cassette tape or CD labeled with the singer’s name and voice part. (Soprano I, Soprano II, Alto, or “Don’t know”)
3.On the recording, the singer will:
a.Clearly state his/her name
b.Clearly state his/her preferred voice part, or “I don’t know what voice part I am”.
c. Sing three ascending and descending scales on your choice of solfege (DO RE MI, etc.), scale numbers (123 etc.) or la-la-la. Scales begin on the following pitches: 1. A below mid c 2. D above middle c and 3. G above middle c, and may be sung in any order. Scales must be sung unaccompanied; only the first pitch may be given.
d.Sing the first verse of My Country ‘Tis of Thee in your preferred voice range key: sop I starts on A above middle C – sop II starts on F above middle C – alto starts on middle C.(Canadians may sing “My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean” if they choose.) This is all to be sung without accompaniment; only the first pitch may be given.
SINGERS WHO SING WITH AN INSTRUMENT WILL BE DISQUALIFIED! IT MUST BE A CAPPELLA: VOICE ALONE!
